Johnson & Johnson

Associate Scientist Bioprocess Development

In this role, I was responsible for small-scale testing to troubleshoot production issues, as well as conducting initial experiments as part of New Product Introduction (NPI) protocols. This included first-time pilot-scale runs, evaluating operator procedures, and analyzing downstream processing of the product. A key aspect of the work was data analysis—interpreting experimental results to identify process improvements and ensure successful scale-up. All activities were performed under GMP conditions within a cleanroom environment.

Techniques used: GMP-compliant operations, cleanroom procedures, data analysis.

2011 - 2016

Fermentation technician

Corbion

In various research and development projects, I was responsible for setting up and executing fermentation experiments, process optimization, and scale-up activities. I worked on both lab-scale and pilot-scale setups and was actively involved in tech transfer and troubleshooting. Data analysis played a key role in evaluating experimental results, optimizing process conditions, and supporting decision-making. As a lab manager, I ensured smooth daily operations by coordinating maintenance, managing supplies, and continuously improving lab workflows and safety standards.

Techniques used: (fed-)batch fermentation, HPLC, NH₄ and glucose analysis, precipitation, centrifugation, data analysis.
